Acupuncture, Acupressure, Shiatsu & More Massage Treatments

Acupuncture is a therapy that is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  Acupuncture is a safe procedure involving the insertion of thin, disposable, sterile needles to stimulate certain points near the surface of the body.  Acupuncture is used for many conditions including; alleviating pain, improving circulation, muscle relaxation, improving mobility, relieving pressure on nerves, PMS, digestive issues, anxiety/depression, maintaining health, and overall wellness including stress management.

Our Registered Acupuncturist Robin is also a Certified Shiatsu Therapist and Massage Practitioner, she will combine her skills to create an effective and relaxing treatment- focusing on your body’s areas of concern and or full-body, achieving the best treatment unique to you with the best results.

Initial Acupuncture Treatment– 90mins – $135

Acupuncture is regulated in BC, extended health benefits often cover Acupuncture treatment, check with your insurance provider for details of your coverage. Please come 10 to 15mins early to fill out your health history forms and questionnaire. Robin will discuss your health history with you as well as any conditions, symptoms or imbalances. After the discussion the treatment is a combination of Acupuncture plus one or more of these modalities; Cupping, Shiatsu/Acupressure, Gua Sha, and Moxibustion (depending on the condition being treated). Please note you must have this treatment first before booking a follow-up Acupuncture, as Robin will spend the time to put together a unique treatment plan for you. If you are nervous about the needles it is possible to do a limited amount, 1 to 4 needles very gently, or Acupressure instead of Acupuncture.

Follow-up Acupuncture/Acupressure Treatment– 75mins- $120

Following your initial treatment, these sessions focus on following a treatment plan set out by our practitioner to continue healing your areas of concern. For general maintenance and overall health we recommend 1 treatment per month, for acute injury, every 2 weeks.

Shiatsu Therapy – 75mins- $115

Based on the same principles as acupuncture, it incorporates Anma (Japanese traditional massage), acupressure, and stretching. Treatment is done on top of the sheet or on top of clothing, generally, no oil is used. Finger, thumb, palm, and elbow pressure is applied to specific points on the body and along the body meridians (pathways in the body where Qi flows). The pressure is rhythmic and slow and can be deep or light. This type of pressure is stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system for deep relaxation and promoting your body’s innate healing abilities. Shiatsu can be used to treat a wide range of internal, musculoskeletal, and emotional conditions, as well as maintaining health and for prevention. *Some extended benefits may except a receipt for Shiatsu check with your insurance before booking.

Shiatsu & Swedish Massage Blend – 75mins- $115

A fusion of both Shiatsu and Western-style massage, with massage oil. Extremely relaxing while also relieving muscle tension, improving circulation, and alleviating stress. Pressure can be light, medium, or deep.

Cupping Massage with our Registered Acupuncturist – 75mins- $135

A combination of fire cupping with a massage. Cupping therapy uses heat to create suction between the skin and glass cups. Cupping is used to move stagnation, stimulate the flow of Qi and remove toxins. The cups are placed on the back, shoulders, upper legs, knees, or sight of pain. Cupping increases blood flow, loosens fascia or connective tissue, and stimulates healing. Cupping will usually leave purplish marks, these are normal reactions, the marks will dissipate within 3 to 7 days. A Registered Acupuncturist can give you a receipt for this treatment, depending on your insurance company it may be covered, check with your insurance provider.
