Acupuncture is a therapy that is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncture is a safe procedure involving the insertion of thin, disposable, sterile needles to stimulate certain points near the surface of the body that you can barely feel. Acupuncture is used for the purpose of alleviating pain, improving circulation, muscle relaxation, improving mobility, relieving pressure on nerves, maintaining health, and overall wellness including stress management.
Our Registered Acupuncturist Robin is also a certified Shiatsu Therapist and Massage Practitioner, combining any of the below treatments, as well as the other methods Robin is trained in creating an effective and relaxing treatment- focusing on your body’s areas of concern, or full body. Below is the list of Services she can provide. Robin can create a combination of all of services to create the best treatment for the best results.
Initial Acupuncture &/or Acupressure Treatment– 85mins- $135
Acupuncture is regulated in BC indicating that the health practitioners must have a certain level of training and must have passed the Pan-Canadian examinations in order to practice and use the title of Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.). Extended health benefits often cover Acupuncture treatment, check with your insurance provider for details of your coverage. Medical service plan of BC (MSP) funding for Acupuncture treatment is available for people receiving premium assistance. Please note you must have this treatment first if you have not seen Robin for Acupuncture before as she will spend the time to put together a unique treatment plan for you. Robin’s treatment is a combination of Acupuncture and/or Acupressure plus one or more of these modalities Cupping, Shiatsu, Gua Sha and Moxibustion. Please come 15 minutes early to fill out a health history form and questionnaire. If you do not like needles ask for Acupressure instead.
Follow-up Acupuncture &/or Acupressure Treatments– 75mins- $120
Following your initial treatment, these sessions focus on following a treatment plan set out by our practitioner to continue healing your areas of concern. For best results we recommend seeing Robin weekly or ever 2 weeks.
Shiatsu Therapy Treatment– 75mins- $115
Based on the same principles as acupuncture, it incorporates Anma (Japanese traditional massage) acupressure, stretching and western massage. finger, thumb, palm and elbow pressure is applied to specific points on the body and along the body meridians(pathways in the body where Qi flows). Pressure is rhythmic and slow and can be deep or light. Shiatsu can be used to treat a wide range of internal, musculoskeletal and emotional conditions, as well as maintaining health and for prevention. *Some extended benefits may except a receipt for Shiatsu check with your insurance before booking.
Shiatsu & Swedish Massage Treatment– 75mins- $115
Using a fusion of both soft and deep tissue pressures, the body is relaxed and muscle tension is relieved- improving circulation and alleviating stress.
Cupping Treatment with our Registered Acupuncturist– 75mins- $135
Focusing on regulating blood flow, cupping therapy uses heat to create suction between the skin and glass cups placed along the body, aiding in pain relief, inflammation, stiff muscles, as well as stress management.
Hot Stones Treatment with our Massage Practitioner– 75mins- $145
Hot stones are used throughout the treatment, offering deep tissue stimulation. Stress and tension melt away leaving you feeling totally relaxed.
Reiki Treatment– 75mins- $112
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. A treatment that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Massage Practitioner Treatment (Deep Pressure)– 75mins- $115
*Please note Hot Stones, Reiki, and Massage Practitioner treatments are NOT covered with extended health benefits unless Acupuncture is combined and only for the acupuncture part of the treatment but you must have seen Robin for her Initial Acupuncture Treatment to be able to combine.
